It is a land of treasures\, that will surprise you at every single step. \n \nWe will start our trip in Aluniș village\, by visiting the local small church\, that is one of the oldest orthodox places of worship in Romania\, established in 1274. The legend tells the story of two shepherds that had a strange dream: a voice told them to smash a stone and inside of it they will find an icon. Amazed by the fact that they did find it\, they built the little stone church where religious services are still held. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nFrom Aluniș\, we will follow some unbeaten trails to Nucu-Bozioru area\, where we will visit the largest rupestral complex. Dionysius the Spinner Cave (Pestera Dionisie Torcatorul)\, the stone house where the monk\, skillful at spinning and weaving wool chose to live in solitude. The cave has places for bed\, table and a vertical weaver. We will climb on a wooden ladder and enter the small settlement through a tinny hole. The cave was named after Dionysius who lived there in the nineteenth century. \nFrom here\, we follow the path to Saint Iosif’s Cave. Carved in a huge rock\, the church has preserved the initially aspect. The village is surrounded by Ciucas and Tataru Mountains\, but\, also\, has access to Siriu Mountains (via Tatarutu ridge). \nThis weekend is planned for the hikers having already some experience and a good fitness level (able to walk over 20km/day with differences of elevation over 1000m\, carrying a normal daypack). \nOn day 1 we will walk the loop of Tataru Mountain\, with its two summits (Tataru Mic – 1412m and Tataru Mare – 1476m).
