The village is surrounded by Ciucas and Tataru Mountains\, but\, also\, has access to Siriu Mountains (via Tatarutu ridge). \nThis weekend is planned for the hikers having already some experience and a good fitness level (able to walk over 20km/day with differences of elevation over 1000m\, carrying a normal daypack). \nOn day 1 we will walk the loop of Tataru Mountain\, with its two summits (Tataru Mic – 1412m and Tataru Mare – 1476m). Belonging to the bigger group of Buzaului Mountains\, they are also considered (many times) just a part of Siriului Mountains. \nOn day 1\, our route numbers will be not so scaring: \n\nDistance: 16 km\nDifference of elevation: +/- 740 m\nEstimated time on route: 6 hours\n\n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nOn day 2\, we will have a more difficult program\, as long as we will hike a less known trail to Siriului Mountains\, starting from Vama Buzaului. Our tour is planned as a circuit that will include all major landmarks: Mălâia and Bocârnea summits\, Lacul Vulturilor (Lake of Eagles) and Poarta Vânturilor (The Gate of Winds). \nThe higher area of these mountains is a combination of large plateaus\, ridges and summits\, offering (during the clear days) fantastic breathtaking all-round views. \nPLEASE BE AWARE: it is a challenging tour\, because of its length and difference of elevation.
